What founders should know
In January 2023, the African Development Bank announced 25 finalists for its 2022 AgriPitch Competition. Selected companies came from 14 African countries, and 17 were women-owned or led. The competition received more than 1,000 applications and offered a total of $140,000 in grants alongside business-skills training.
The programme targeted African agripreneurs aged 18–35 across the agricultural value chain. Finalists received investor-readiness and financial-management training, with categories for early startups, mature startups and women-empowered businesses. This is a report on that competition, not an announcement that applications are currently open.
